it looks like many folks got their approval one day after filing an SR - coincidence or a trigger? Is filing the SR somehow triggering the IOs to look at your file ?
However, many people who filed SR on the first working day of the month 08/02 were not approved the next day. Also, the many others who bombarded the USCIS with multiple requests/queries had to wait much longer or are still waiting.
It is almost like the IOs didn't like to be bothered on the first working day of this month (when the begin working on a fresh set of files) and also didn't like to be pushed too much.
Or is this all just a super coincidence for hundreds of people?

I called the USCIS office today. I am on H1b and my spouse is here on H4. I am filling 485 under EB2..
They said clearly that we need to submit I 864 form for support, not I 134 which few people have mentioned in this forum so far..
So I am going with I 864..

All those 320,000 and counting families who are struck in the namecheck-blackhole should join the rally for bringing a meaningful resolution to this 'Struck-in-NAMECHECK-ForEver'/blackhole issue.
When IV is giving you the platform to reach out and voice out your problems please come out, meet the lawmakers , attend the rally and help your families and your self.
There will not be another rally organized, so all of us will be left to ourself stagnating in these backlogs.

my 485 was filed during Aug 2007 , i had EAD as well that i never used.(EB3)
i joined another firm and started off fresh using old PD, and EB2, which got ported
I had 2 RFE on my prior 485 FOR medicals and EVL. that i answered ( company didnt had issues as long as i was paying for it)
now How do i get my prior 485 to be merged, since its not an easy case, my new firm isnt willing to do so, can i raise SR/IO and try it? is it worth it
Have you asked your lawyer? Check with your lawyer first as you say it is a little complicated. You don't want to mess up this late in the process.....

The flower campaign has been a spectacular success. Lets not dilute it or confuse it with food or pizza campaign. Lets the free flow of flower campaign contunue.
There is a symbolism of peaceful protest behind flowers, its universaly understood, what is the symbolism behind sending food, it might be misunderstood. Lets not overdo it.

Hi Ron,
My Priority date is Jan 2004, EB3-India category and i have an approved I-140 and have applied my 485 during July 07. I have sent my EAD and AP for renewal which expire in last week of September. My spouse is in EB2-India having pd Dec 2005, also applied I-485 (140 is approved) during July 07 and has applied for EAD and AP renewal, which expire in last week of October. We both applied independently and are using our H1bs and not EAds.
Since my spouse's PD is going to be current in August 2008, I was planning on applying for a second 485 as a dependent on my spouse's application.
I know that two 485 applications causes issues. I want your recommendation and also will my application affect my wife's processing time or create issues for her.

You don't need to file a new I-485. Make the CIS aware of your spouse's case and your eligibility under it as a dependent. Ask them to cross reference to the two cases.

We did further research and found out that, Vonage considers more than 5,000 minutes per line per month for unlimited residential calling and more than 10,000 minutes per line per month for unlimited small business calling is not to be considered normal use. That means the moment you run over 5000 minutes (Vonage World Plan is residential plan), Vonage will cut you off.
Lets do some calculations for calling India. You pay $25 a month and you will get 5000 minutes per month of calling. $25/5000 minutes means 0.5 cents per minutes which is really cheap.

Drag employers and head hunters till the end. Once the deal is finalized and it is time to hire, then let them know that you have EAD. At that point no one would like to see the effort going into drain. Do not let it be the first point of filter.

Unfortunately these guidelines specified in the memo haven't been adhered to, during processing of I-485’s in cases where the sponsoring employers revoked I-140 petitions.
Please make this small correction in second paragraph. The "to" in bold is missing.
Please also post the names and addresses of both California and Vermont service centers as it is not clear who would adjudicate the thousands of I-485 cases they are sitting on.
