All questions regarding this new service should be directed to the Bureau of Consular Affairs� Public Inquiries Division of the State Department. You may contact them at the following numbers and e-mail addresses:

Public e-mails (automated replies only): usvisa@state.gov
In case we do receive the electronic verification an email will be sent to you regarding the same. Once you receive the mail you will need to submit your documents to the VFS. Sorry to say, this new system has been designed and implemented not taking into consideration,how it is impacting all the applicants. There is no timelines which are published for cases like ours. In short the new system will delay things.

I read on the murthy.com website that the UCSIS needs to go through the Kentucky Consular Center to obtain the PIMS verification. The number for the KCC is 606-526-7500. I am going to try and call them to see if they can give me any information on timelines.
For those people that have not left the US yet, it might be worth it to talk to your lawyers and see if there is any way you can have your names added to this database before you travel - that should eliminate any hassles once you leave the country. Much easier to try and do it from there rather than from here.
There is no number to call here to check on status - I have been sending emails to mumbaiNIV@state.gov but have not received any response from them yet. Not really a surprise. If anyone tries the number above and gets some response please let the rest of us know.

You seem pretty confident about getting an RFE. Did you already see the online status changed and just waiting for it to arrive in the mail OR is this pure guess work?
The reason I ask is because I am also in the middle of changing jobs and so have the same concern but not very confident of receiving one.
My priority date is current since september 2010.
My H1B transfer application is with USCIS since Aug 27th, 2010. The date for transfer requested is Novemebr 1st, 2010.
My I 485 was filed in Aug 2008. I have been working with the current sponsoring employer since 2005, no breaks.
I am expecting an RFE for my I 485. Anyone who was in similar situation share what kind of RFE is likely to be issued? I already have a job letter from the new employer essentially stating same kind of work duties.

Good suggestion, I didn't ask about EAD, I will check next time. But I guess evantually EAD would be revoked after I485 is denied. I think H1 is a backup plan if MTR denied and till appeal is decided..

boreal, cool down. Just think what you will do if you are in that situation.
At personal level ( micro level) these people are making right decisions. As long as you are not committing crime, nothing wrong with making decisions which are good for you. I will probably do the same thing if I am in that situation.
The core problem with system was cheap money because of lax lending standard and low interest rates ( blame Greenspan) and affordable housing (like ACORN from Dems). These decisions are made by people in power and so called smart people. Individuals do have their contribution to the problem but the macro decisions provided them means to have things which they can not afford. The bubble had to burst sooner or later ....
So right now, remember wealth is always relative. So since you haven't bought house, you don't have negative equity or declining value home.You haven't foreclosed so you can still get loan at decent rate and buy house at much cheaper price. All the people with money in the market are affected by recent downturn. So relatively speaking you are doing much better than a lot of other people ....
BTW I am in the same situation as you are and waiting for good opportunity to buy house at cheap price. Do you see the positive side ? I hope you do .....
People like you and boreal are doing much better because you decided that a 2 bed room house for rent is what you can afford because the prices shot up by guys like punjabi who wanted to make money and overbid on an house they cannot afford. Otherwise guys like you and many others would have bought house at a resonable price.
Don't you see what is happening? They live a rich man's life buying house that they cannot afford and then they foreclose with banks taking the hit. The banks in turn gets money from Governement, which they tax on people like you and many others who are renting, so that the guys like pubjabi are entitled to big house and bailouts. This is sick. Where is my bail out money. I want my rent to be subsidized too. I think boreal 's anger is real.

One more thing.
If you decide to apply multiple 485s with each other as dependents, then file just one first. Wait. Gets its A number and put that number in the other application. This way you will cover one pitfall of multiple filing. It will not cause confusion at USCIS end. Now This will not completely eliminate all risks in multiple filing. There have been cases in the past where when you inquire the status of one application, you will get the status of other. And if the PD of other is new, you can get stuck in a blackhole and will either have to wait for USCIS to sort it out or keep trying other ways to solve it. One of the reasons for delay (rightly put by Murthy) is -- when an application is adjudicated by a CIS officer, if the officer sees that there are other files open for the same individual, the officer will not adjudicate that application until that officer has all of the files in existence for that individual. This causes significant delays and confusion in adjudication.
Also do not apply EAD and AP on both. This is commonsense. But just mentioning it here in case..
I also researched the option of CP on one and regular 485 on other. While CP looks attractive, there are lot of risks. I have a big document on this. Overall I would not recommend this to anyone who wants to play safe.
Even multiple filing option should be pursued by critically evaluating your own situation. See how much you and your wife have secure jobs. How new are your PDS. What catagories do you belong to. Do not just apply because you have money to throw away. If throwing money gives you peace of mind, then by all means give it to the lawyers to file I485.

I thought each EB category could get upto 28.6% of 140000 = 40000 visas every fiscal year. So if EB1 uses up 5000 and EB2 takes the remaining 35000 and its annual allotment of 40000, EB3 does not get any spillover.

For transiting through US airports, you need to prove you do not have immigration intent or commitment to another country like home ownership, (and the whole nine yards that go with it). That is far more difficult to establish. Many businesses in developing countries that used to route travels to South America via Atlanta now route them via Europe which is easier compared to US since 2003.
Actually US travel industries are fighting hard to get Transit Without Visa (TWOV) and International-to-International (ITI) passenger programs in US airports re-introduced.

(Travel Plans in the next 3 months, Moving Plans in the next 6 months, Contact Information, Passport and I-94 info, Employment Hisotry - Last 5 years+ Last job ouside US, Residence History - Last 5 years + last residence outside US, LC, I-140, EAD and details, and a few other questions, etc)
2. Passport copies- all pages, current, all old.
3. All I-20, I-94, I-797, LC, I-140 copies
4. Birth Certificates or Birth Affidavits
5. Marriage Certificate or Marriage Affidavits -
6. Sealed Medical Exam Cover - I-693
7. 6 photos for adults ( 4 if under 14)
8. Photocopy of current I-94
9. Divorce Certificate (if applicable)
Happy Filing.
