The problem with this guy is he has got his GC and now he doesn't want anybody to have it. Basically he enjoys when people are having of pain. That's the reason he doesn't want any progress in PD's. Dude, if you don't like if people are talking about positve things such as "PD becomes Current" then my humble request to you is just stay-out of any converstations.

If we have all resources required to do MBA fulltime from a reputed school then there is no dilemea, one should opt for it. When resources are limited (need to work fulltime, has family with small kids, limited $$$ etc) then online is a better choice compared with part time. Students working for an Online MBA do develop good network and such degrees are being more and more accepted. Online course needs more descipline and dedication than the regular courses. The interaction between students and professor is more in a online course than in a part time course. You spend more time in research than in travel. Flexibility is another advantage.
My client CIO did MBA from University of Pheonix in 2006 and he was hired as CIO in 2008. I am talking of a company with more than 5000 IT staff. So its my opinion that Online MBA is valued by the industry.

That is a valid concern veerug brought up and it would be great if the IV core team can list how IV will complement AILF during this lawsuit.
I understand that it may not be the right time since even now AILF is in the process of identifying a strategy and IV team may not have had time to detail this yet. But, it would help if there is a sticky with this info,probably in the same sticky that pappu posted, URGENT IV Message: Lawsuit and other update, so everyone can understand the motivation and the action items for this.
Regarding the media drive,I believe that we have a better chance of getting more attention if we can get information on the scandal info that USCIS might have gone the extra mile to revoke July bulletin availability dates.
Thanks for this portal for everyone to get organized on immigration issues.

Thank You for your input. This is very helpful to highlight the name check problem. The problem description and proposed solution by retrohatao are very good. However, just allow me to share a bigger picture. There is no difference between any issue is being categorized by someone to be a sub-issue or if an issue is categorized as main issue. What is important is that the issue is being addressed ....

No doubt this is a very important issue. Even though name check delay issue directly affects people like you and me, know that this is not the only important issue. The point is, many people only care about getting to the next stage of GC process. If someone's labor is stuck, that group thinks that labor certification clearance should be the top priority. If someone's 140 got rejected, then that issue should be the only issue on IV's agenda. If someone is not able to apply for 485, then that person wants to make that as the top priority. If someone is a PHD, then that person wants the top agenda should be to get GC to the guy who has PHD and the argument presented to us is - don't you get it, I am a "PHD". The other day there was a group of people including techworker_tn1, helpful_leo etc who wanted to form their own group for PHDs. And now, if someone's name check is delayed, then we say that everybody will have to go through it sometime in the later stage, so this issue should be on the fore-front of the list of issues.
I am slightly perplexed by the behavior of some members who seems to indicate that we are in some sort of race with one another. And these members seem to send out a message that says - if their issue is not listed as top priority goal then all other issues that IV is working to resolve or all the work being done by IV is worthless. I am slightly disturbed to read posts like the one from wam4wam which says that he/she hopes that bill is not passed till his/her name check is cleared.
This is a sincere request to everybody. If all that we think about is 'what's in it for me', then we cannot find commonality among ourselves. And thus no progress is possible. Know that with this thought process, nothing will happen.
IV is an organization made by people like you and me. If everybody's objective is to get to the next stage of green card process, know that we are not behaving like matured and "educated" class that we all claim to belong. Just reaching the next stage of the process is something like looking for instant gratification which actually doesn't help the cause or the complete green card process.
Most humbly, I would like to request you to post your experiences with how many people you have communicated about the efforts of IV? How many people you have convinced to join IV? What is the success rate? Were you able to persuade the people to contribute for this cause? Those things will help more than anything else. Ask yourself, how is it possible to continue to include more agendas and not come up with more helping hands and more resources and expect to succeed?
If you do not see a favorable post or see a post that doesn't contain something that you want to hear, please do not infer that nobody cares or as if no one is doing anything. That post may just express somebody's opinion. I must mention that everybody wants their agenda to be pushed to the top. If there is some sort of a debate from others in the forum, I see that group of people starts backing off and starts posting messages to communicate as if this forum or IV is not doing what it should; Or some people start posting messageas hoping that bill will not pass if their agenda is not addressed.....and on and on. Only 67 members so far? I was thinking there would be hundreds of FOIA requests by members, if not in thousands, given all the tracking activity/VB predictions that happen here (and else where too). Now that finally we have a way of accurately predicting PD movement in Visa bulletins and make more accurate prediction of approval than possible through any tracker ( all of them limited to insignificant percentages of the total population to make accurate predictions), just by sending a simple letter; I am baffled by the lukewarm response by a community that's otherwise relentlessly peristent in the tracking/predictions activity.
Having too much fun in those vodoo activities, are we? Welcome to the real world. FOIA is our chance to get the answer we all have been seeking. Will you pop the Red Pill? or continue dreaming in the unreal World of tracking and VB predictions?

I think we need to stick to single target of visa re-capturing (with no mention of the word H1B in the legislation). There should be no crap about H1B workers stealing jobs nor granting pardon for illegals. Visa re-capture is for educated foreign-born professionals currently employed in US.
Many ask if this is the right time. When will be the right time?. Are we asking anything that has not been already granted by the law?. These past visa numbers have been already approved by the law but not used by the USCIS.
The time is RIGHT NOW.
It is interesting why IV team is not taking up this one item and start fund raising.
May be the team has some valid reasons for not doing so. I could only guess.

I clearly mentioned each of the following country and category. To make sure, I also mentioned that we do not need combined total of pending AOS applications. I agree and disagree with you. We came here for the good things this country has to offer. And we may have got, as you mentioned some of them.. money etc., for some people its quality eductaion, for some more research etc etc.. And we dont like some unfortunate things like the one we are all upset about. Its the department thats broken we are all upset about and not the country as such. I know how you feel, but I am sure we all agree we are frustrated with the immigration department. We must do something to fix it. Cant just sit quite, when illegals come in millions and ask for citizenship again and get it too. I think that happened in 86 or sometime around. We must highlight ourselves before its too late.

That "small change" of EB2 China PD is very important. It suggests that there is going to be "Spill over" so EB2 India and China will have to move together to use the unused numbers. A good sign; at least EB1 retrogression does not seem to be likely and there will be some spill over numbers to EB2 India (EB2 china may not benefit much as it had a PD later than that for the rest of the year.
Scorpion: how can you say "no spill over". EB2ROW is current and so spill over is likely (more likely from EB1 and even to some extent from EB2 ROW)
Moreover, EB2 ROW remained current meaning that they have not used all their quota; they will not use any spillover numbers and they may even provide spill over numbers to EB2 India and China.

I was 37 years old when I arrived on H1b in 1999, I had owned properties back home and I had a fair amount of equity.
In 1999 my wife and I could see the Southern California real estate market was growing. Our initial idea had been to rent for 6 months, and get to know the area, then decided where we wanted to buy. My employer applied for H1b in November 1998 and it was approved in May 1999. We came over in January 1999 to look for property to rent but also with a view to maybe purchase.
Within 2 weeks of my H1b approval my wife and I came over and because of the property price increases since we began looking at the market we felt renting was going to be dead money and we need to buy for economical reasons.
So in June 1999 we purchased a 1,950 sqft house for $280,000.
In September 2003 we sold that house for $535,000.
Using the increased equity my wife who is H4 chose another house (as she couldn’t work it was important to me that she be happy in the house). The next house we purchased was 4,550sqft, and in December 2003 it cost $835,000.
I know the market for real estate is shrinking, but according to Zillow.com this morning the property is valued around $1,230,000 albeit was worth considerably more a year ago.
I’m not looking to brag, I am sharing my experience.
1 my wife and kids were on H4 they needed a home to be happy in.
2 it made economic sense to buy
3 we got the right funding
4 had we waited for GC we could never have afforded the home we currently live in.
The timing of immigration approvals had no bearing on whether I decided to purchase property.

I agree with Singh who said those were different times .. and you are lucky too (And qualified I guess)..many in california could not afford to keep their cars during last slowdown (my friend brought brand new mustang and then had to sell it for 12 k ..4 month old car - 3000 miles on it) in a hurry. people left their cars in parking lots (thats what I heard). buying a house makes sense if you know you will be in that place for a long time - and the price is right..(last few years it was like crazy speculation) see the link I had posted in my prev posting ..it is a horror story now.

Within 2 weeks of my H1b approval my wife and I came over and because of the property price increases since we began looking at the market we felt renting was going to be dead money and we need to buy for economical reasons.
So in June 1999 we purchased a 1,950 sqft house for $280,000.
In September 2003 we sold that house for $535,000.
Using the increased equity my wife who is H4 chose another house (as she couldn’t work it was important to me that she be happy in the house). The next house we purchased was 4,550sqft, and in December 2003 it cost $835,000.
I know the market for real estate is shrinking, but according to Zillow.com this morning the property is valued around $1,230,000 albeit was worth considerably more a year ago.
I’m not looking to brag, I am sharing my experience.
1 my wife and kids were on H4 they needed a home to be happy in.
2 it made economic sense to buy
3 we got the right funding
4 had we waited for GC we could never have afforded the home we currently live in.
The timing of immigration approvals had no bearing on whether I decided to purchase property.

I agree with Singh who said those were different times .. and you are lucky too (And qualified I guess)..many in california could not afford to keep their cars during last slowdown (my friend brought brand new mustang and then had to sell it for 12 k ..4 month old car - 3000 miles on it) in a hurry. people left their cars in parking lots (thats what I heard). buying a house makes sense if you know you will be in that place for a long time - and the price is right..(last few years it was like crazy speculation) see the link I had posted in my prev posting ..it is a horror story now.
does it make sense to buy in california now ? it would be sheer stupidity (in my view) ..maybe after price comes down another 20 percent would be right time to buy.

in the end it is supply and demand ,....supply is huge for housing and is growing ..there is no (negligible) demand ..and hence even small increase in demand helps ..this is economics 101 !!!
the other point(and the main point) is to use this to highlight our problems(and to keep on trying ) ..and hope that someone listens. the other option ofcourse is to let things drag on ....

I think after next October PD will be 2005 or later for EB2 and 2002 or later for EB3. The argument of taking 10 years for EB3 is just speculation and that much worse situation will never happen unless if they increase H1b numbers so much. Even after increasing H1b for US MS degree holders EB2 situation was not worst. Still I think less than 20% of H1b persons are applying GC. Reason is Top 4 Indian companies and some american consulting companies are not processing gc.
Unfortunately, China and ROW EB2 are 2 and 3 years ahead of INDIA EB2!!!
Hopefully, INDIA EB2 and EB3 moves forward in OCT with new allocation.
