    guys cool down it took them till end of May about 2 months to issue all receipt notices for H1 filed on Apr 2 this year. With the whole yes-no-yes situation this month they are definitely backlogged. Lets just wait till we actually get the receipts .

    How does one get to know if his Labor Substitution was rejected? If a Receipt Notice was received does that mean that it was accepted? And, can they reject it later?

    Well, in that case you become a ulta employee and trouble your employer...

    NKR, not sure if you heard about this one proverb... "jabh kismath GA***U hai tow kya karey ga PANDU"....we unfortunately get trapped with such type of employers who trouble their employees and learn lessons in hard way and looks like you haven't encountered any such experiences with your employer, if that's the case you are lucky enough & I wish you would NEVER fall into such employers hands who would trouble for so many other different reasons and this could be one way....or not sure if you should have one small experience and see how you feel just for the heck of it....

    I can sit here and add as many proverb's here all day long but the point here is try to be supportive to folks who are seeking for some help rather then sharing your "KATARA" proverb's..try to improve your thought process if you can....

    so you don't see a difference in how a private organization and a non-profit organization operates. Well here are some:

    1. In your office, you are actually working for your boss and you are getting paid to do what they want you to do. I don't remember getting any pay check from IV. In fact, I have written several checks to IV. This doesn't mean I can post whatever I want but as long as I am following IV guidelines, I shouldn't get harassed by folks like you who think that their post is the only important post.

    2. If you don't do what you are told at work, they'll fire your a&& and you wouldn’t know how to pay your bills next month. That's why the CEO or your boss don't have to send you a one liner before they take any decision.

    As far as I know, IV is just a group of people coming together to address a problem which is shared by all members. I know that some people have worked harder than others and some people have contributed more than others but everyone has contributed one way or the other. So for you to come out and say that you are the only one doing all the work and others are just doing nothing and some how you are the CEO of this organization is just beyond my imagination. May be it's time you wake up and smell the coffee.



    In your office do you ask your CEO/VPs to first send you a one liner before he takes a decision on your project? Think about it

    If an employer does not take advantage of employees by doing illegal things while applying for labor sub (e.g., asking for money, asking employee to sign a bond etc), it is a legitimate way to get GC. I have repeatedly said that PD transfer during labor sub should be stopped, if possible. However that has consequences too because of the stupid "labor must be pending 1 year for H1 extension" rule.

    There are legitimate scenarios for a company to use labor sub when they want to hire someone in their 6th year of H1 or children of employees they have hired are going to become 21+ and need to apply for 485 before that happens. There could also be concern about H1 stamping in some countries and hence getting AP becomes important.

    However, there are lots of bad apples with labor sub (read as companies taking advantage of employees) too. Overall, labor sub would not be an issue if there were adequate visa allocations for high skilled individuals.

    We really need to concentrate on the bigger agenda of getting favorable laws passed. At the same time, any abuse of the system (e.g., bad apples) should be reported, if not by the employees but by their friends etc.

    - mortgage rates are one.

    It is difficult to get a document from the underwriter on what basis he/she approves the interest rate.

    Anything over $10K, an interest rate of 4.875% saves lot of money compare to 5.5%

    But why one gets 4.875% and another one gets 5.5% may not be questioned.

    There was another thread, a post replied as when he forced a bank to send him a document with explanation why his application was denied, it had very generic info, carefully excluding things that trigger legal battle.

So don't assume that R&D investments are always good for a company.

    Finally, Wipro & the likes -- they have already opened up shops in China, Mexico, Brazil (yes)... and finally if dollar falls further they could actually buy the US companies and make them efficient (Honda and GM example).

    Yes, and providing "Skilled Labor" is basically a value added service. Another poster Sanju got it right "Issue is not with body shops or companies, issue is within the thought process of these politicians - what they are trying to achieve"

    Both of them are very very expensive.

    Wellwin I am totally agree with your points and whatever you have mentioned in your message is appreciable.
    like_watching_paint_dry your points are valid but try to see from the other side I mean think if would have chosen for CP instead of 485.
    Please don't hink that CP filers are not contributing in any efforts of immigration voice, I have also sent letters to president for this latest campaign although there was no point mentioned for CP. I know that we can win this battle together.

    In short I just want to say that it would be good if we all work together please do consider the CP filers as part of this community.

    I do not get it.

    As far as I know, a CP applicant can always switch over to AOS if already inside the US. It is harder for an AOS applicant to switch to CP.

    You will have to make a choice. Do you want the benefits of CP or AOS? The way things are presently, you cannot have both. So pick one.
