Have they mentioned it on their website? Usually DMVs like CT etc.. mention on website that they need a Employment verification letter, as a matter of fact, they don't even accept paystubs they just want employment verification letter.
Folks - my advice is : Please do not argue with the department. Ask them to post their new requirement on their website so that you don't go there and get disappointed.

1. His salary CAN be raised.
2. His wife CAN work, as article mentions that he applied for GC in 2004
3. I never heard about 1 million - I guess we were talking about 140000 unused visas right? Where this 1 million came from?
4. If the company is bought - one doesn't generally reapply for GC.
Even little lies don't serve a good cause as this article can be easily discredited.

Great news. By some distance this is the best news on skilled immigration front this year. This will allow all the H4 dependents who have spent time on H4 for more than 6 years to start working if they get a job with H1B.

At one point, there was concurrent filing. Just get LC approved and file for I-140 and I-485. Even if dates are not current. Then these filings were seperated. Then retrogression kicked in.
Now these GCs are getting aproved. So, don't worry.

I recant my earlier outburst at mercies since I realize that he was acting as a messenger to the problem. Sorry for the offense mercies.
There are many people who would just run away from effort when doubts are raised and since people of afraid of being punished for just advocating a public policy or writing a letter to congress in the first place. I would request you to not reproduce posts here or on portal that would echo the material the plants fear and doubts among members. When the core group is spending 2-3 hours a day on top of their fulltime job plus the weekends, plus out of pocket expenses on travel to DC, its disheartening when a post on forum scares away sceptical members.

They never felt the need of country cap. When non-Europeans started immigrating in large numbers, america suddenly realizes she has to be "fair" to all countries in the world and fairer to whites in particular.
It is such a shame that this country covers up racism with "diversity" in this 21st century.
Moreover skill has nothing to do with country of birth(EB category).

I received my AP on Nov 3 and looking at the AP doc it had an approval date of Oct 10 whereas I had "Document mailed to applicant" message on Oct 31.
I am not sure what happened between Oct 10 and Oct 31st.
I am sure nothing happened between that period to your papers except eating dust in USCIS mailroom.

We need to call for unity ask people to come out and support this initiative.
We got to do somthing. Enough is enough. Think of all high skilled workers not going to work for a day what kind of impact that will have? What kind of awareness that will create? I am ready to give up one day worth of pay for this. Anyone else?
Efforts have to be collective. Try to get supporrt from coworkers, friends - ask them for a honest opinion and see what they have to say
