Could you please provide more information about changing employers after getting the green card. I have not used AC21 and do not intend to switch before the GC is approved.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It's important to have the goal clear. Trouble with "Truth based Stories" is that they deviate very soon from the truth & start focussing more on the aspect of entertainment (American Gangster as a recent example). I don't like the idea of diluting the subject to make it more entertaining.
Entertainment means different things to different people. There has to be a target audience in mind before making a movie. The larger the target audience you focus on, the lower the common denominator becomes. This is the reason Lou Dobbs has a bigger audience than Bill Maher.
I think the idea of documentary is more true to our purpose even if it may reach fewer people.
Well said. Thats what I am expecting from all other members, more ideas to make it success.
Documentary achieves our purpose and also I would like to make movie either it is diluted with humor or only focused on problems will decide at the time of story discussions & script preparation.
But target audience are general public includes law makers.
And motto is to achieve our goal in change in legal immigration laws.

I bought a D70 October 29th, and have terrible back focus problems. I've been a photographer since 1959, used Nikons since Vietnam in 1968, and know what I'm doing.
To test whether the back focus might be my fault somehow, I have had several friends use the camera without telling them what I was testing. All had awful back focus; not one low light, wide aperture image is anywhere near acceptable.
Clearly, this is a systemic problem with the D70. I had similarly disabling problems with my first two FEs when I bought them in about 1978; apparently Nikon still tests its products on its first year's customers. Back then, it caused me to change to Canons until I bought an N90s and came back to Nikon.
I might do the same thing again. It is very sad; I like my Nikons and we've seen a lot together, but this is the way a company drives its loyal customers away.

I just came back from india. Flew via Frankfrut (Lufthansa). Lufthansa was bad. Frankfrut was dirty, no customer service, service Reps are rude. Next time I will avoid Frankfrut. AND I will not pay a dime for transit visa. period.
American airlines was trying to stop me boarding the plane as the CSR was not aware that if someone has AP they would not need transit visa in Frankfrut. I had to fight and make them call Frankfrut to confirm.
Might not be pertinent but American Airlines food was horrible and tasteless. They were running out of food.

post it here...i'll compile a list once i have a good number of them
if you know the answer to a question...please reply
I would very much appreciate it if we can keep it civil and avoid hijacking this thread :)
Q. What is Immigration Voice's agenda and purpose?
A. The agenda is to lobby US Lawmakers for legislation to help clear the backlog for Employment Based green cards

Gurus,
I need your help in this scenario. I went to India during Mar 06 and got a stamping on my passport till Jun 2010 (based on my I140 approval). But at the POE, the officer stamped my I-94 till Jun 07 as he could only stamp the date that was on my current I-797. He also told me that I can goto the local USCIS office and extend my I-94 till 2010. Is it true? and if so, how would I go about doing that??
Thanks in Advance for all your help.

This thread is getting lost.. Lets keep this thread on top.
When you send this message please make sure you put your complete name, address, email and phone number at the bottom.. If you don't how come somebody can get in touch with us...
I agree. This is one of the easiest things we can do right now. Yes, I mentioned by name, address (along with apartment number), phone number. I did not mention my email address, as it is visible in the "from" field of the email.
However, I was thinking about this approach later. I thought it would be MUCH more effective if we could get others to write to the media/ congressmen/ senators etc... including people who already have GCs and citizenships. The more people convey their resentment to this DOS/ USCIS decision, the more effective it is.
Also, we should preferably also write letters... not just emails.
Emails is a somewhat frowned upon medium, as it is easy to abuse. Also, it is easier to simply delete an email thinking of it as spam... that is, if the email is not already blocked/classified as "spam" by the recepient's email software. (e.g. My yahoo mailbox gets tens of spam emails everyday and they are moved automatically to the spam folder.) On the other hand, it is not equally easy to ignore 1000 "letters" on the subject (preferably signed personally, but even otherwise).
But how can we get others to write letters for us?
Obviously no one will do that... but what if, I "write up" an appeal into a word doc, and email it to my friends, relatives, and colleagues in the USA who are either in the same boat (but not part of IV), or already hold GCs, or are citizens. I would explain our situation very briefly in the email... maybe with 5 bullet points. I would request that if they think what happened is wrong, the they may please write their full name & address + phone num in the space provided in the word doc, and send the document back to me by email. I print these documents and package them up and "post" (snail mail) them to the congressmen/senators and the media.
I am not suggesting I would stop writing "emails to media contacts" (or calling up/ meeting our senators). This will be in addition to that effort.
Let me know if you guys think this approach is useful... and please... if you disagree... just take it easy... don't blast me for just sharing my thoughts.
Thanks!

Thank you thomachan72.
Sure I will. I have no application pending.
If you are an immigrant whats your status...Tell us more about you.
If not, whats the purpose of you are visiting IV. Just teach about the scam?
The ICE, USCIS and DOL are there and very much capable to take care these scams. So if you have any information about the fraud...contact those authorities. We dont have anything to do with that. Otherwise please get lost.

It was a disclaimer. I never said it was bad for you. But there have been people estimating it will still take 2-3 yrs for eb3 to reach 2005 ....is that true????.. i have no idea since the data cant be broken down at PERM level.
I just wanted to underscore that my promising feeling might not seem promising to someone else and that I under stand what they r going thru...nothing more than that

Thank you for the replies, I think I won't do anything further for the I140. I will try to get my H1B first. I am wondering in my case, will my H1B application be rejected due to the "I140 filed when F1"?
Thanks again for the help!
You have already violated your F1 status. You can not have a company apply for PERM & i140 while on F1 status, period. All that stuff of "its for a future position" or "you did not authorize the company to apply for I 140" is B.S. The only thing that matters is that F1 is not a dual intent visa, and initiating a immigrant process in your name (yes the PERM and I140 applications have your name on it meaning you authorized it) means you violated F1 status. You need to consult an attorney before you file for H1.

I guess EB3 will finally cross 2001 barrier in the next bulletin.
For Eb2, it will be like the new EB3. Just too many cases were filed in EB2 after 2005.
Good luck to everyone.:)

They should realize and should feel shameful for what they have done. It is sheer abuse of power and treating the immigrants without respect. I would even call this as HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION as this country preaches other country on how to treat the fellow humans.

How can you say that its not legal? When you sign that contract or piece of paper, it means you are acknowledging to all that is in there. Whether you like it or not, when you sign a paper you essentially are saying, "hay! i read this and I agree, here is my signature"...correct me if I am wrong...
From legal point of view, its 2 parties agreeing to a contract (by signing) however unjustified it may look. Maybe some part of the wording may be legal some may not be...
99% agreements written by the desi consultants are not legal ( they are one sided) . if you dont sign it , you dont get the job.
I am not a lawyer , and this is my personal view out of the experience on being a H1
