If you are replaceable then you have false claimed in your application that no American is available for your job. It defeats your H1B and Green card application. America invites H1Bs and gives them greencards not because they are paying taxes but because employers prove no american is available for our job and we have unique skills for job. 'Best and Brightest' is we are and USA needs us. Without us the economy will be more bad.

Have they mentioned it on their website? Usually DMVs like CT etc.. mention on website that they need a Employment verification letter, as a matter of fact, they don't even accept paystubs they just want employment verification letter.
Folks - my advice is : Please do not argue with the department. Ask them to post their new requirement on their website so that you don't go there and get disappointed.

Folks, can dependent's participate in writing letters to President? I have already mailed my hand written letter to White House and copy to IV team, in addition to that I got confirmation from other Indians with whom I work also mailed their letters..If dependents are also allowed then count for another 10 letters from my side...;)

Talked to an io at neb sc.within 5 sec of me starting to talk the ffice interuppted and she apologosed for doing that and said because of huge vol of appli there is a delay in the receipt notice.i SAID I AM july 2 nd filer and she said it might be in the first week of aug..(i had said the same thing in my earlier post too after i spoke toa diff officer)..She asked to keep checking the check clearnace.

These kind of behaviors lead to bad customer service. Misuse it and then dont complain if USCIS disallows this service where we can call and talk to someone. Just get your act together and act maturely.

My HR already mad at me. Because
(1) First EVL - for AC21 job change
(2) Second EVL - to answer NOID
(3) Third EVL - for travel on AP
All the above in 3 months gap each after joining. Now if I ask for one more saying I need it for driver's license - she may ask if I also need an EVL to go to six flags or ride the NYC Subway

I got my GC after 6 years of application and 10 years arrival. Initially the GC was not a goal, probably a mistake.Later on it felt like it was hampering my dreams. With the passage of some more time, realized that dreams were not really dependent on the GC, but it was a nice crutch. Getting the GC does bring about some stability brought about by the job flexibility, but the lack of one did not prevent me from changing jobs, marrying, having kids, buying a home, or searching for better opportunities. I really can't say, I lost a good opportunity because I did not have a GC, but I did use it as an excuse.
Nevertheless, not a look a gift horse in the mouth, the GC was a much awaited event and milestone. I am now officially an immigrant, and I did open a champagne bottle on that day and have a dinner out with the family.
- Any advice for everyone?

My law-firm/company did a good job of declaring a generic (still O*net compliant) job title/description which luckily encompasses the range of roles (compliant with the job description) I have been doing over the last 8 years. And if required, at this point, I am at a stage where I am willing to take a demotion or something if required to work on the job role that matches the GC temporarily, if thats what it takes. And I am sure my company will fully support me. There is no dearth of requirement for fresh coders/developers at our team/company. They would probably be happy to oblige :D . But I hope it doesn't come to that. I think there is some leniency allowed in the growth of job scope/promotion etc over the course of years it takes to get the GC. Gurus any comments ?

- some clarification about overall H1B status or something across all these years (although I know for sure my H1B status, I-94 etc has been perfectly clean so far)

- Medical checkups may have expired and they need new ones? (my medical reports are from June 2007)

Here are the words quoted from the RFE letter
You must submit a currently dated letter from your intended permanent employer, describing your present job duties and position in the organization, your proffered position (if different from your current one), the date you began employment and the offered salary or wage. This letter should be in the original and signed by an executive or officer of the organization who is authorized to make or confirm an offer of permanent employment. The letter must also indicate whether the terms and conditions of your employment-based visa petition (or labor certification) continue to exist.
So, couple of questions to the gurus.
a) What happens if current job title & duties are different from that of the proffered position? I am with the same employer since the beginning. How much of an allowance/leeway is given for growth of job role/scope?
b) What happens if there has been around $25k increase in pay from that mentioned for the proffered position? Is that an issue?

This trend of cases filed at NSC and transferred to CSC and then back to NSC have not received FP notices yet.
Intrestingly, the cases being transferred from NSC to CSC and then going to TSC are getting the FP notices. Sparky_jones got it. I just read above that one other persons went to there too. Please update us when you receive the FP notice and I am sure you will receive it soon.

There are ppl who moved 2 or 3 months after getting GC and have got their USC

I went through the entire thread, i did not find any cases of people who had never used AC 21 and who left their employers right after 485 approval.
To be very specific, we need clarification on what the consequences are of leaving the sponsoring employer right after getting the GC esp people who never used AC21 and have been with the sponsoring company for several years before getting the GC.

Re-capture, STEM un-capping, "one visa number per family" or other such legislative action/executive order is the ONLY way any retrogressed EB category will see relief.
Recapture too is a one time solution that will just get rid of the CURRENT backlog. In future, EB application numbers need to be tied to number H, J, L,O and other visa types

It is dark age for immigrants in America. They are just inventing ways to harass people. There shouldn't be a reason to issue EAD or AP in time. They have increased the fees several folds in recent years. They want us to run pillar to post for everything, be it work permit, travel document, driver's license...Just discouraging aliens to live in this country.
