Yes, I am aware about this but in my case I do not have any written or tape recorded evidence. In other guy's case at least he have written proof (Capital One) and that can be the base. Now many companies are doing this so it is ofcourse my assumption that they can do this under "Hire and fire" authority.. And main problem is that, when you are out for a job, you do not stop thinking to takle particular one "no", you want to just move haead and fix your job first.. That is practical reality:)

Even after all that, you may end up in a situation such as yours - where you mentioned that 5 employers told you that they will not hire somebody on EAD. You can remain quiet about it and go about your life, or you can do something about it. Its up to you.

But race, gender, immigration status, etc. CANNOT be one of the reasons or criteria. This is my understanding of the law. I believe it is written in simple English that an employer CANNOT discriminate or make hiring decisions based on immigration status unless mandated by the job requirement (such as security clearance).
You are blindly assuming that whatever the employers are doing is within legal bounds, without questioning, even when the documents (see I-9 form, or DOL's web site for example) clearly state that such practices are illegal. (I am not a lawyer, this is my understanding of the law.) All I am saying is that if I were in this situation (denied on EAD), I would write to the heads of HR, ask a lawyer if this constitutes discrimination, call the OSC hot line, ask in the forums for employment law, contact ACLU or other civil rights groups. Heck, I am not affected by this (yet), and I still did some of the above because I have the urge to find out if this is indeed discrimination as viewed by the law and if so, do something about it. As I am continuing calls I found that they are all aware of bill coming for vote tomorrow. They asked are you talking about visa bill?

I still think, the USA is the best place for democracy loving people. Govt and its agencies try their best to be accountable to law. Now if you want our Immigration issue to be put before IRAQ in the Congress, I would think that is selfishness. I have colleagues whose sons are in IRAQ. For me their lives are more important than my GC. Now that does not mean we stop making our point to Congress.

Opened SR 9/5/2009...got letter from CRIS...wait 6 months.
For my wife , we got 60 days wait letter.
I m the primary applicant!
Has anyone ,tried to contact Congressman/Senetor's office?
How can i do it?
I m in Orange county, CA.
I don't think calling Senator's office is going to be of great help. At least it didn't help in my case.
You may google to find out the senator(s) for your state. Every senator must be having their own web-site. Get the phone # from their web site. Call them and tell them that you need help in Immigration and explaing them briefly. They will take your SRC # and contact TSC on behalf of you.

We are hearing from multiple sources that, on Monday or Tuesday of next week, State Department plans to issue a revised Visa Bulletin for July 2007. This revised Bulletin would retrogress some or all of the employment-based categories, very likely to the point of unavailable. These assumptions marked in red are incorrect. ROW has been consolidated into 1 category to simplify the visa bulletin. ICMP countries exceed the quota, that's why they have separate entries. If another country exceeds the quota U.K. for example, then it'll have it own column in the visa bulletin. The quota for EB-ROW is 40K - per country limit for ICMP for that category X 4. That's why EB3 India has been getting screwed ever since they re-interpreted the spillover rules (in the middle of 2008). Otherwise, you would see EB3 ICMP get at least 8K GCs in 2009.

2) 5 subscription cataegories under each EB category: I,P,C,M,ROW

The whole idea of this campaign was to get media attention and publicize this issue as much as possible, which we all know that it did just that quite effectively despite all the apprehensions and reservations expressed.
This campaing was never thought of as a panacea for all our problems, whether it will lead to a fruitful or POSITIVE result that is still unknown. What is known is that this drive has provided some much needed traction and attraction to our cause, which is the important RESULT at this point in my opinion.
All I am trying to say is that we should give some thought and imagination before discounting or discarding an idea even if it appears to be far fetched at first. Any idea proposed which is out of the ordinary will be meted with reservations and oppositions, after all its nature's law that there is always resistance to change,:rolleyes: good or bad.
I don't want you to be eating your words :D , I know for sure that you want this problem resolved as much as anyone else on the forum.:D
Everyone has right to be SKEPTICAL and even I am SKEPTICAL about the final outcome of our over all struggle, but I wasn't SKEPTICAL about the outcome of this campaign.

Yes I was the one who suggested the dead fish. I belive in RESULTS, if sending these flowers actually ACHIEVES something, I will make a nice big biscuit of my words and eat them :).
Until we see ACTUAL "POSITIVE" RESULTS I am still going to be skeptical. Sure we have made a lot of noise and it has been heard by a lot of miscallaneous people. So were the rallies held by the illegals. What happened? NOTHING! So until I see some results YES I will STILL be skeptical.
Other than that, I really really really hope for everyone's sake, that this works and if it does I will eat my words and become a believer:)
