In my experience, that level of qualification might cut it for a community college (that gives associate degrees) or adjunct positions (very low paid temporary positions) in 4 year colleges, but won't for a full time tenure track position (requires Ph.D.). Business schools might have some flexibility in hiring if the person has a very strong business background (e.g., CEO of some company).
Anyway, most academic positions are advertised in academickeys.com and the Chronicle of Higher Education. Around bay area, other than Stanford and Berkeley, you have SJSU.

yes, in general as per law, you have to file tax returns to both states.
But most of the desi-employers try to use same state that they used first part of year and continue with that till end of year. But in the next year, they start with new state. This happens all the time with most of the desi-employers. There is no problem. You are not skipping any taxes, it is your employer's responsibility. If your employer says, he is working here and paying state taxes, then thats it, nobody can't say/argue anything.

I filed my I-102 to receive an I-94, ill update this when I hear back from them.
When I receive the receipt, could I use that for the RFE? I don't think i'll have my I-94 to give to them in the 80 days I have left?

Hi All ,
I am currently on L1B visa valid till Mar 09.
I can apply for renewal for the same in Sep 09 and wanted to check if there would be any issues as if i travel to india and return on the old petition in oct-nov 08 (in case the renewal is still pending).
Will my return on the old petition cancel my L1 renewal petetion ?
I am trying to get the L1 renewed as soon as possible so that i can file for EAD renewal for my spouse.
Any views would be greatly appreciated.

They should exempt PIOs from this new rules. If back from a vacation and there was an emergency back home ( within 60/90 days?), can't i take my US citizen kid to India ?

I had applied for my H1 extension in June 2008 and waited for some time and then upgraded it to premium processing in July. I did not get any result on my H1 extension but in the meantime my GC was approved in August. My question is will i be able to get my H1 processing fee back, at least the premium processing fee. I heard if your H1 processing doesn't get any result in certain time you will be entitled to get your money back.

If you have not received any RFE or NOID or DENIAL or APPROVAL with in 15 calendar day of your PP upgrade then you are entitled to receive the PP fee by USCIS policy. One catch though, not sure whether it will be applicable if your GC was approved with in 15 calendar days of PP upgrade - just throwing one exception. You will never know what is in fine printing :)

I am in NYC. My wife's attorney Stephen Perlitsh, is just too busy to give us some career guidance and cancels our appointments in last moment. I have no problem paying a good fee if I can get a real good prefessional advice, it is very essential for us in this retrogressed scenerio.

I have a similar timeline - applied for LC in February 2002, got approval in December 2003, filed I-140 in February 2004, I-485 in March 2004. Currently filing for my fifth EAD! The USCIS not only tortures the whole family (it's a common practice that name check is pending only for primary applicant) but makes us to pay for the wait! My son was born around the time we filed for adjustment of status, he will go to school soon but we are still not sure whether we will be allowed to stay. We cannot plan ahead and open education funds for our children. My wife cannot go to college, as she is not eligible for in-state tuition discount. Needless to say, I am forced to sacrifice my career as the whole thing is dragging for 5+ years and I have to work at the same position to keep GC process alive. I've got MCSD certificate and outgrew my position long ago. I cannot quit my job and found a new business.

Can scanned copy be submitted to USCIS for affidavit of birth or we have to submit the affidavit in original?

Yes u need to submit only scanned copies/photocopies to uscis along with i-485.And keep originals with u.U might be asked to show the originals only at the time of interviews and also incase if they have sent u any RFE.
I too submitted the scanned copies as per my lawyer's instructions.

I got EAD on February 2008 with my primary GC employer. My PD is just 4 months away and I got a job offer in a big company which I cannot afford to loose.
The the job duties in my new job remain the same but I am worried to change job during this time when PDs are jumping very fast. The max I can delay the joining my new employer cannot be more than a 1 month. Please suggest the best approach...
The best approach is to go ahead and change the job. What are you worried about? File AC 21 via new company's lawyer.
