Computer would not let officer open SR if your application is well within processing time. So I am not sure, how your SR was opened. Wait for your time to come and your GC would be approved.

So I've been out of school for just about 3 weeks now and haven't done much shooting lately. Took the family up into the mountains today and grabbed the camera and a 50mm lens...nothing else (including the spare battery that I'd need soon after :mad: ). Anyway, I couldn't get a decent shot of anything that I "saw". Very disappointing to say the least.
Now, This is the best of about 10 shots I was able to take before I needed the aforementioned spare battery. My fault, I didn't check the charge level and I forgot the spare....whoops.
Anyway, while walking through the woods, this stump caught my eye. I'm not entirely sure why, but it did. Now here I am looking at a photo of a stump. It's a nice enough stump, I suppose and might be nicer if that branch to the right wasn't there but I'm curious to see if I'm going crazy or if there's anything actually worthwhile in this shot (something more than a snapshot- but not by much.)

Hi All,
Me and my wife are on EAD. We want to open LLC. Right now I am doing consulting in IT firm. My wife is not working anywhere. What are TAX and immigration consequences if we open LLC on my wife's name?
Questions we have..
1. Can I become parnter easily once my status got changed from EAD to GC?
2. Once my wife start LLC, can she work for another company e.g. Software consulting?
3. What would be tax bracket for my owner of LLC?

my mothe in law is visiting us. she came to the Us last Aug 2006 as a B2 (tourist visa). we extented her visa once which iwas valid for Aug 8, 2007. then we applied for the extention again. yesterday we received the letter saying USCIS is not going to extend the visa anymore. the application had been rejected. but they didn't mentioned any date in the letter about when she have to go back.
what is safe for her? does she have any deadline to go back? is it 15 days or a month....

Generally, they give only one extension. Technically, I think she is already overstaying? The bigger problem will be coming back next time. Did you try calling them?

Q : Will this affect my ability to travel?
Possibly, if you leave the country prior to the completion of the receipting process and do not have the appropriate travel documents, you may have difficulty returning to the United States.
Ok so no travel unless you have AP...right?

Fiscal year 2007 -- Does this mean all the visas issued from nov-07 till date or nov-06 to oct-07 ?

I am currently working for compnay A. I got selected for company B. They already started my H1B transfer. But some how I got in troouble in one offense. I already told my company about this offense, they are saying they will be able to support me on the employment point of view. I have fear in my my that if something goes wrong I may not be able to join that company.
I am curretly thinking to deny the offer. Compnay B is okay with that, only they are saying that they have to back out the paperworks i.e. probably cancel H1B transfer. Is is going to create any problem for me as my current employ is also ready to start my H1B renewal. Also I have EAD with me, is there going to be any problem for GC.

I'm in the same situation. There is a 1 letter difference in my Father's name in the passport and in my birth certificate.
My lawyer went ahead and filed my 485. I did an affidavit later and sent it to the lawyer. He says he'll send the affidavit only if there is an RFE. Hope the helps.

Hello,
My Labor was denied for the following reason -
Neither the earliest date listed for a recruitment step on ETA Form 9089, 03/20/2008 listed in XXX and XXX, nor the date the application was filed 8/27/2008 fall within the Prevailing wage determination validity period of 4/21/200-7/20/2008. This indicates the employer did not begin recruitement, not file the application during the Prevailing wage determination period.
Can you guys please suggest what could be done. Letter states we can ask for a review. But lawyer thinks we have start the process from the begining.
Would appreciate susgestion ASAP. Have only 15 days to respond.

For that to happen a number first has to be generated! There is apparently a block (CIS-SSA name verification issue) that is preventing that from happening.

I would suggest you call SSA HQ in Baltimore, MD and explain to them the situation and tell them that the SAVE system (that check your immigration status) is having possible issues with your case.
If that does not work, send a certified mail to the local office supervisor and SSA HQ.
got to the SSN office with ur receipt, tell them you are waiting for ...... long for the card. you need the number to give to the employer. most of the officers would look in the system and would give you the number.

It is doubtful that anything other than amnesty would kill this legislation.
There is a serious risk for the Democrats in forcing their members to vote
down an amnesty bill. That would undoubtedly alienate one of their core
voter constituencies.
If the SAVE bill passes, the likely result is that support for legal immigration reform will increase substantially. A number of members of Congress have said that they support legal immigration reform, but first want to see new enforcement measures put into place"

I've also heard about these two attorneys, one from Reisterstown,MD and the other from Arlington,Va.
