I have one question on this for some reason if EB-2 Perm is not approved then can we still reatain the EB-3 priority date?? and the EB-3 status.??? I have a masters and 5 years of experience and same situation almost like yours.

Definite. My journey was worth it, even considering all the diffiulties. In India, I had a flourshing practice and when I was planning to go to US, my friends will call be a "fool".
However, looking back, I think I made a wise decision. I have a very good academic job, for which I am proud of. My wife has a very respectable job, which she could not have done there. My kids are much more independent and mature and have more opportunities in terms of education, jobs, travel etc. My health is far better here (I was allergic to dust and had athma). I have more time to enjoy sports and travel. Most of my immediate family is in US.
In nutshell, YES, I did the right thing.

I read the document and here's what I think is the important part:
In a subset of these
case, the FBI name check request that been pending for more than 180 days.
This means that only a part of those 47k applications are pending for more than 180 days. This doesn't say they will approve 47k in March.
Why mid March? Well that's the time of the month when the VB will be published so I'm curious to see how the April VB will look like.

Good in the sense....some weeks back there was another analysis here that said I will get GC in 2016, now it is saying 2010 -;)
I do not necessarily understand all the details here.....but just hope this will turn out to be true from cut off date perspective....

I got mine from Walmart, after i heard from couple of my friends. they give 6 photos for 8 bucks or something, where-as if you go to places like Walgreens or CVS.. they only give 2 photos for 8 bucks.

The increase in actual costs to applicants and petitioners will be only 66 percent, however, because applicants for adjustment of status will no longer be required to pay a fee to apply for interim benefits.
Currently, the I-485 fee is $325. The I-485 customer will also file an average of two Applications for Employment Authorization (I-765) and nearly half will file at least one Application for Travel Document (I-131), while an additional 20 percent of applicants will file a second. These additional ‘interim benefits’ applications allow applicants to work or travel while their status application is pending. The combined fee that applicants currently pay is approximately $800. Sent both the faxes.
As of now, I believe 217 faxes have been sent.
Last time, I had got 7 of my friends to send the fax ( against my target of 10 ). to make up for the poor performance and to contribute a little bit to the huge efforts done by the core IV team, this time I'll get 25 on Monday when I'm in the office ( good that my manager is out of office :-)

Another thought: the flyer we have now was a good start, and at the time when we started we didn't have other material in place.
But esp in places which have a real bulletin board where information will stay on for a while, I think we should give out a little more information on who we are, what the problems is and what we are asking for.
So at a place like ICC, maybe we should pin a copy of our brochure, and another sheet formatted like the brochure in which we give instructions on how to donate money.
The brochure format and content also looks professional, more credible than a flyer that resembles flyers for rentals, car sales etc etc.

I thank everyone for taking interest in my case and giving valuable advices.
Yes, the lawyer should have checked this and filed on EB3 to begin with. If he had suggested a potential hindrance like this, I wouldn't have agreed to file the case under EB2. The way it happened was, employer and attorney requested all my details and decided to go with EB2. I didn't even know the complete requirements of EB2 at that time as I had a belief that EB2 is only for Masters degree. Because the employer + attorney recommended EB2 I signed up for that.
I have requested my employer to start a new PERM as soon as possible.
I am very much looking forward for interfiling my old I-485 with the new I-140. My attorney is saying its not possible. (Maybe he's very less experienced in these matters).
"during that time hope your new I-140 comes through (for the PERM you are starting now) and then interfile that I-140 to your existing 485"
Can you please shed some more light on that so that I can argue with my attorney. Any links regarding this would be really helpful. Any piece of information/case history would be helpful to argue with my lawyer.

You are right. EB3 is the safest one. I never tried to take advantage of EB2. The whole mistake was due to improper knowledge from my side about EB2 and wrong evaluation by the attorney. I am looking for all ways to convert this case into EB3. My attorney is saying that we can't file a new I-140 under EB3. The only way to continue this case is to request the EB3 conversion as part of the RFE response. Then, INS should agree to the change in a return letter which can be followed by the I-140 application amendment or new I-140 application.

Labor is asking for Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience which I have. I have no plans to move out of H1b until I-140 is approved.

I didn't run away. Today I was running behind my attorney and employer to save this case under EB3. I didn't fake my experience as I finished my course well before starting my first job. IO caught the discrepancy which should have been caught by my attorney long before. Just to re-iterate I never tried to expedite the process by filing under EB2. There are many people who would just run away from effort when doubts are raised and since people of afraid of being punished for just advocating a public policy or writing a letter to congress in the first place. I don't think 15-20% drop in 5 years is speculative at least not in California. CNN Money actually predicts a 31% drop in prices in East Bay of SF Bay Area! This is probably the worst time to get into housing market, at least in CA.
But I agree with quality of life issue. Even the most luxurious apartment does not compare with a house. Having a backyard and a garage are the biggest and the best things that apartments do not have. Also, having your own house gives you a sense of belonging. Renting a house won't give you the same feeling. Also, I know more than one friend who used to rent a house but had to move out because the landlord decided to sell when the lease was over.
So apartment doesn't offer the same lifestyle and renting a home might make you move every few years involuntarily. Best thing to so for those in CA itching to live in a house would be to rent a house that the owner is very unlikely to attempt selling. Any ideas on how to determine what houses are actually just rental property and and not really targeted for sale?
How does someone know when is the right time to buy a home? Anytime is a good time to buy a home, as long as you can afford it. I thought the last few months were good time for buyers because of the inventory situation (more choices or otherwise you bid usually in CA) - I dont think anyone can predict the market situation in 5 years and no one makes money in 2 years in a good market condition as well. I bought it 2 months ago in East bay and I am planning to hold it for another five years atleast and both spouse and I work - it is certainly not an investment for us, rather a place that we live - it is a rare feeling one gets after living in exile (apartments) for many years - sigh of releif

Perhaps, USA can levy another "fee" on H1-B folks to cover up the fighter jet deal loss just like they levy the mexico border protection fees on H1-B's.

hey guys the main problem with digital cameras was that the images from them could be pixelated whn using a lower megapixel camera and/or printing from one of those home photo printers.
i think as long as u dont have pixelation, u will be fine no matter how u print/ get those photos.
i would say use at least a 4 megapixel camera without any flash
