I am traveling this month end to India via Frankfurt. I am on AP. I checked with German consulate in US and officer told me we need transit visa both ways (going and coming back). there are no exceptions. He confirmed the same twice when I went in person to get Transit visa.
I would rather listen to German consulate office rather than interpreting stupid sentences on German consulate web site. So please do get Transit visa with 2 entries.

IV is not a mere website but an Organization. 95%% of IV activities happen as an organization - the website is just an interface. So you may not know what is happening and not properly informed
Juluy reversal was easy - all they had to do was fi a screwup, but changing legislation is not so easy. Companies, Lawyers, everyone have been trying hard to convince law makers to bring in changes to legislation - this effort has been happening for a long time - It is just not one rally that will solve the problem.
To bring i legislative changes some amount of activism also is necessary at times to wake up people.
IV is backed by Lawe Firms and Employers and is the largets grassroots organization for Skilled Immigrants.
A massive mobilization effort is the only way we can see results and the capacity to do that is only in the hands of IV - primarily because of the membership base and efficient leaders, very honest and sincere leaders etc...
In the past alsothe only way changes started happening in legislation is by grassroots movements only.
Yes, to answer your question - we are not sure if issues will be fixed, but then we are making a headway.
There may be more activities and rallies in future, IV follows stuff with strategy.

I think for few people this might be bad news. Some people changed their job without I-140 being approved. Sorry guys...i used AC21 but i have approved I-140.

Starting July 16th, 2007, labor certification has a 60 day validity period. Meaning, a I-140 petition needs to be filed within 60 days from labor approval date....If immigrant visa numbers are unavailable (dates retrogressed), you wont be able to file your I-140/I-485 concurrently but you can file your I-140 petition irrespective of your priority date as long as you have a labor approved. You dont have to apply for your labor again and again....Its just that, once you get your I-140 approved, you will have to wait for dates to become current to file I-485...

What's is Frist's motive in trying to trip the McCain - Kennedy or Specter's Markup? What's his point?
Looks like in Congress, each senior senator is a leader of his own and don't tolerate or cannot see eye to eye on more serious work of fellow senators or congressman. The idea is to trip the whole effort to treat illegal immigrants as humans. In Frist and its ilk's opinion, they want the services of illegal (and legal) immigrants, but this great country doesn't want to give any benefits to the illegal aliens in return. It's is so farcical, only the feudal minded Frists' can do it. Many in this country want 'closure' for this and 'closure' for that, but they deny all relief to these illegal aliens. Our goal of relief from retrogression and to increase visa numbers is unfortunately tied to such 'comprehensive bills'.
I want users of this forum to think about it, ruminate on it and write letters to law makers, newspapers etc.

If they can attach Dream Act as an amendment to the Defence policy Act why cannot they attach SKILL to the same. That is the question we should be acting on.
I think expecting Sen. Cornyn to do something now is kind of remote. He is going to be facing elections soon in 08. May be Cantwell is the one to do it.

Factors you forgot to consider:
1. EB1 and EB2 applicants this July and Aug. ate up the numbers that were made available to EB3 last June 2007.
2. EB3 Visa number is just very few, around 800 per month per PICM country.

I checked with some of my colleagues and friends. They all have sent the letters, but most of them have not participated in this poll at the start. So I wouldnt get discouraged by smaller number of votes in it.

You guys are doing a great job of higlighting our plight. I have also donated 100$. You guys should probably start a seperate thread for fund raising.
Anyways coming back to creating awarness. I thought somone should create a podcast something like the ones we hear on NPR. The other might take longer and that is to send a documentry to Google current. It a tv station that just airs user created content.
Yes you guys are right not many people are aware of the issue. Up untill a week back I was under the impression (ignorantly blissfull) that the bill being passed in senate is going to reduce the cap.
I think the first step to be treated on par with agriculture workers is to be organized like them.
I have send out personal emails to all my friends and if anyone wants to reuse please feel free.
