You can appeal quoting your friend got approved. I have seen in the past, people got their approvals in appeal.
You must consult a good attorney and go for appeal if you think your employer is willing to help and has the ability to pay, appeal is your best route or go for another job and reaply with your new employer.

I had my I140 approved too and had mentioned it in my application. They dont bother you. They however gave me 221g to verify student status and delayed my visa for two weeks. Interview was less than 2 mins and the vo said she had to verify student status thats it.
What is that? Never heard of that before. Do I have to take anymore documants with me for this?

It will be better if you use your in house staff for this. No need tp pay lawyer fees. Afterall its just a form. For straight forward cases, your staff can do all the documentation and I-129 filing.
Actually %age vs salary depends on your billing multiple. The % age may work out better for employees if overtime is involved and employees get to charge overtime unless you are paying overtime to salaried employees as well.

Even I got an FP notice 3 weeks after getting the welcome notice. Then they also updated the status to Card Production Ordered and Post Decision Activity. Finally got the card after more than a month. I still have to go for FP later this month. I don't know what the hell is going on but at least I got the card.
I am still waiting for my card, but I received a FP notice yesterday. I think I'll get my card once I am done with my FP.

You guys all are excellent. I never thought that this thread would grow as much as it did.
To Admin: Please start seperate thread for each consulate, where people can share their experiences and ask specific questions.
Now coming back to my question. My labor is approved and I-140 is pending.
I have declared that my employer is applying for my GC.
Should i carry documents proving that my I-140 is pending and that labor is approved?
My 6th year H1-B will be expiring in Aug 31 2007 and i have valid I-797 approved upto that date. I know i can get 3 years extension anytime with approved I-140 or atleast 1 year H1-B extension.
Will that be a problem at all? I am asking this because, the numbe rof months for which stamping will be valid will be just few months.

EAD is like plate meals. GC is like full meals.:D
Full meals is not recommended by any doctor, plate meal is the best way to be healthy :)
So in other words GC will make you lazy and EAD keeps you working hard.

I received IRS tax audit check for year 2005 last week. I guess mostly I can defend my audit and I have scheduled an appointment with IRS tax manager for next week
However god forbid if I have to pay penalty on audit,I was wondering this would impact anything on my 485 process. Does it have any impact

Going to Initial Review after approval is scary but normal when you get done FP after approval. I think if you have the I-797 approval then there is nothing to worry about. If you follow a thread in tracki*t you will know that couple of people also got similar status change after FP.

Hello all,
this is related to getting SSN to H4 people. Now a days everything is getting linked to SSN. Credit Cards, Diver Licencse etc for example. ITIN is not being accepted now a days. Is this a new trend in US or something in place all the time? This makes the lives of H4 people even miserable. Is there any alternative to overcome this problem? Is getting H1 is the only solution for getting SSN?
Please sugegst your comments.
