Let me try to make a humble suggestion here - why don't you try writing a really short and direct letter, so that even the laziest guy cannot help but read it?
For example:
Respected Mr. Senator
I would like to draw your attention to the bill <blah blah> which is very important from the point of view of people waiting in line to be legal immigrants
I wish that you lend your valuable support to this bill as it will help eliminate the backlogs and delays in issuing green cards to people from retrogressed countries like myself. This is essential to ensure that all people are treated equally irrespective of their country of birth

Hi All,
I have my labor filed and approved for EB3 March 2005 PD. My I140 too has been approved in June 2007. I filed for 485 on July 2nd. I would like to know whether I can now start a fresh EB2 and also apply for I140 and use the older Eb3 priority date of March 2005. I have not changed my company I need guidance for experts in this regard.
Just for information, my I140 was approved after I had applied for 485

I am one of the July 2 filers. I need to go to India on 1st November. I was hoping that AP will come by that time. But there has been no progress on that. Just spoke to my Attorney. She said that USCIS does not have any facility to issue AP for an emergency.
Then I called USCIS. I was told the same thing. The Customer Service representative said - I should go wherever I need to go. On arrival contact the local US Embassy and tell them that you need AP to travel back. They will "guide you".
On this forum I have read about INFOPASS many times. I was hoping to use that facility if I did not get AP in time. I am trying to find out if anybody actually used INFOPASS to meet a local Immigration Officer and got AP on an emergency basis.
No theoretical guesses please.

this should include total applications as derivative also has to file separate I-485. you multiply with 1.7 when you are estimating from approved I-140 to speculate number of people who are waiting online to apply for green cards. bottomline is its no where close to 500,000 to 750,000 as expected by oh-law and other websites

You apply for H1 transfer before you join new company. Once u get the H1 receipt (2 weeks) then u can be in their payroll. Then file for AC21. If all goes well this is my plan in June 08.
My question is my wife has her EAD expiring 10/10/2008, AP on 11/19/08. She wants to travel to india in May and return in november. is it ok if I change employer while she is in india, my concern is when she comes back in november her EAD is expired, will it affect our 485 status?

Last November I quit my job in the US and left the country as well. Two days ago, I received an email saying my 485 is approved, and card production was ordered. The card will go to an address in the US where someone can forward me the mail.
What should I do? Try to enter the U.S. with the card? What to say to POE officials? WIll I be questioned?

Ask them to allow you to roll it into an IRA instead of cashing out as income. You will have 10% penalty in addition to big tax bill otherwise.

Second H1B 3-year extension beyond original 6 years !
My PD is May 30. 2006 (beat the Aug 2008 VB by a day!) from company "A", I-140 (EB2-I) approved
Ported to company "B", I-140 (EB2-I) approved (premium - 2007)
Company "B" filed for 1st 3-year H1B extension using AC21 as backup
Filed for I-485: RD=Aug 2; ND=Sep 17
Changed to company "C" 2 months back using AC21 (don't know details of documentation sent - handled by company "C" legal department)
Company "C" filed for 2nd 3-year extension H1B using AC21as backup
FP done in Oct 2007
Used AP for Int'l travel 6 times for business trips.
Soft LUDs in Dec 2007, Feb 2008

I think this makes it clear we are talking about legal skilled folks.

EscapeVelocity - I do not have a link to an official docuemnt but it is possbile subject to time availabel on your H1. - The amendment takes the same steps like a new H1 but is not subject to a CAP.

Mine is July 2nd received date at Nebraska. I got my A/P just today. My attorney had no info about it. I got it directly.
