Dont ask me when you get an RFE for your skin test. I believe I read it on these forums that a couple of people were specifically asked about their skin test.
Even the doctors are supposed to give you a skin test and then the x-ray. If you have taken a skin test before, I think you can just take the x-ray now.

Most people from India will have PPD test positive as they have received BCG vaccine in childhood. PPD test in not mandatory. Negative chest xray is sufficient to prove that you are free from active TB (you may still have dormant infection but that doesn't matter at this point of time). Plus USCIS/CDC had published a guideline for civil surgeons instructing how to perform the Medical exam for immigration purposes and it clearly says that applicant can choose not to have PPD test and negative cxr will be sufficient.

This is what you can do - Both in Mumbai and in Delhi, you have USCIS approved doctors who help people going through CP. In other words those who choose to go through emp based CP or family based Green Card which US embassy issues, go through Indian hospitals in Mumbai and Delhi. I think Gangaram in Mumbai has this facility. Ask your wife to get it done from there. Do not wait till the last moment, as someone pointed out, a slight delay in flight could............

Almost all holders of the CA have a 3 year BCom. We have had, as far as we know, 100% approvals showing the CA = US Masters with the proper documentation and a professor's expert opinion letter. Also with AMIETE.

If Republicans control the House, they will be too bitter because they can't repeal the Health Care Reform, and will not let CIR pass in 2011. Best hope is 2012 now. Obama could have easily passed CIR in past 2 years, instead he focused all his efforts on health care..
Dems were no good either...they could have easily worked with Bush to pass it in 2006/2007 but, they screwed it up by going with the points system and the "path to citizenship". Again, in 2008 they had all 3 chambers but, the hispanic caucus held the bill hostage. CIR will never get passed as long as there is that "path to citizenship" provision, in the upcoming congress. So, in reality, there is no CIR...now or ever.

I filed for my self, wife and two daughters I-485 and EAD with all documents but without I-140 recipt notice instead I enclosed evidences of the cashed check, INS online status print out and cover letter with reciept number.
My application reached on July 2 at 11:34am. No reciept yet. I called INS and representative explained my case will not be denied. If at all, INS will ask for the reciept notice.
I have my reciept notice for I-140 now.
At this point shall I wait or apply one more today with the reciept notice.

It is not true that Many people have to wait 10+ years to get gc. May be some people might wait for 10 years because of frequent change of jobs , layoffs and also ignorance of green card processing. Most of the time EB2 waiting time is 2 to 3 years. Indian EB3 is in worst situation but only for past 2 years and before that everything was current. For that also most waiting persons filed I 485 because of July VB issue. In my opinion EB3 PD will be backdated up to 5 years.
Also there is no legistrative activity in Congress about any immigration issue. Always skil bill comes in limelight when congress is in Session. But everyone knows that skil bill is asking too much in H1b and immigration numbers because of exemptions and it will be very difficult task. But no one in pro immigrant community is ready to compromise on numbers. When Congress tries to curb the abuse of H1b even pro immigrants are opposing the bills without any suggestion of any alternatives. If some bill comes for only GC that too moderate increase in numbers that will have bright chance of passing in congress.
You should not expect any rally will produce meaningful reform. It has to be proved that additional immigrant and H1b numbers will produce more jobs and it should not create unemployment in americans.Just sufferings of gc waiters is not enough. My opinion is Rally will be used to show strength of IV and may educate public and Congress. But anti immigrants also doing Similar Campaign(not big rallies) by negative points of immigration. The same congress till the end of 2008 and I doubt they will consider any immigration issue till new congress comes in 2009 that is not too far from now. But it is always good to try all the time.
Before any reform comes most IV members may get GC.

there are only 1M (may be little less) skilled workers looking for immigration and you have problem with that because all of them are not THE BRIGHTEST one, okay... well first understand, for THE BRIGHTEST we have EB1 which is working great. Now in America there is a lot of work which needs experienced and highly skilled worker and we have EB2 for that, apart from that we still have a lot of work which requires hitech skilled worker and for that we have Eb3. So by the definition system has already identified the need and have representation for those.
And secondly you have problem with those who came legally and are highly skilled and have followed all the rules since day 1, counts less that 1 million, you are not willing to give them GC on other hand there are 12M (actually 20 M) who can't even write their names in English and everybody is ready to give them GC even the president of US is ready.
Doesn't that give signal that US is pro illegal and anti-legal immigration.... think about it

The United States today indicated that it was willing to consider setting up of a joint technical working group to address the issues coming in the way of finalising a totalisation agreement with India.
New Delhi, on its part, has made it clear that it is not agreeable to the US stance of linking the requirement for a social security net as a precursor to finalising the agreement. India also made clear that it was adopting a calibrated approach to further opening up of the retail and financial services sector.
Indians working in the US have to mandatorily contribute to social security benefits but are unable to repatriate the same when they leave the US, in the absence of a totalisation agreement between the two countries.
The issue was discussed at a meeting of US Under Secretary for International Trade Franklin Lavin and Commerce Secretary G K Pillai in the capital. Commerce ministry officials said the Indian side pointed out that New Delhi had signed totalisation agreements with countries like Belgium and France, which had not set any pre-conditions.
“It was pointed out that India, which is a developing country, effectively gives a grant of $500 million to the US in the absence of a totalisation agreement. The US has indicated that it will soon have a video conferencing on the matter with senior Indian officials,” an official said.
In response to the US demand for further opening up of the financial services sector, the commerce ministry pointed out that India was adopting a calibrated approach on the matter.
“It was pointed out that the Reserve Bank of India has finalised a road map for the gradual opening up of the sector by 2008,” an official said, adding that New Delhi raised the issue of absence of a level-playing field for financial institutions in the US.
“A foreign bank wanting to open more branches in India only needs to obtain the permission of the Reserve bank of India. However, an Indian bank wanting to open up branches in the US has to go through the American federal system and then a state regulatory system,” an official said.
Banks like State Bank of India and ICICI have long pending applications for opening more branches in the US.
India also raised the issue of extending protection to its traditional knowledge under the patent regime in the US.
