I agree only crying baby gets milk.
But only lucky applicants get green card :). Its not based on eligibility alone.
Now about protests and demonstrations. I dont think it will work in the US for a myriad of reasons.
I think every year about 30K or more people are coming from India
on H1B. I think half of them apply for GC. At least 200K Indian nationals
alone waiting in the line for GC. Why IV has only 5k? We should have atlease 50K members.
A working plan would be get atleast 100K people to our organization and have everybody contribute $100. That would give us $10Million. We can hire top people and companies to get it done. And donate big funds to these politician.
What I told is just a dream. Most of us here are free riders. In my company there are 5 people who are affected. I'm the only who checks regulary this site. I have to tell them again and again and again to send a fax or donate.
So what to do?

Hello IV Freinds,
I checked my mail last Saturday, got Cards and welcome approval notices in mail. Status at USCIS website still shows all cases pending. I had called my Senators office for follow up week before as processing dates also had also passed.
I appreciate IV for providing this website for sharing our immigration issues and concerns in this long journey.
Good luck to all IV members who are still awaiting for good day to come.

what is missing, I am on H1B, I haven't filed yet anything for the GC, tell me why it is irrelevant post ? Whats wrong in redirecting the immigrationvoice.com to ebimmigrationvoice.com because I have observed that when ever some newbie ask some thing non eb based, e g , a family based legal immigration Que. then people here just give hard time..

Today, I spoke to a USCI Agent and his supervisor at NSC about my case..
I quizzed them about July 2007 revised visa bulletin etc.
He looked around, checked it for like 10 minutes and said HE DOESN'T HAVE
ANY MEMO. All he said that he has this MEMO which states that July 2007 (original) bulletin ..based on that EB1-3 for all countries are current.
:-) May be NSC approves application :-) as practically NO ONE can stop them..
Again this is based on my call to actual live human being at NSC..

What is the purpose of this poll? Why start from 2005 (and not from 2001) ?
trueguy has a poll started for period from 2001 to 2004 and I have started this for 2005-2008.

Write a letter to the employer explaining that you need to get paid. Attach a copy of the timesheets and all other documets for proof. Send this via registered mail. Give him some time to respond, if he doesn't, then file a complaint with DOL.

12+3+6yrs of Work experience = BS in USA.
RFE Details:
The analysis of credential, from the educational evaluation submitted by you, clearly states that�s 3 years document is equivalent to an associate degree in electronics &/or communication engineering from an accredited college in united states.
Submit evidence that the alien obtained the required bachelors of computer science before September 14 2005. Evidence of education must be in the form of an official record showing the dates of attendance, area of concentration of study, and the date of degree award, if any.
If another advisory evaluation of the alien�s credentials is also submitted, please ensure it is an acceptable evaluation.COLOR]

Folks,
How are the taxi charges from Chennia airport to the town or station ? Do the drivers charge whatever they feel like or is it controlled?
My parents are leaving back from the US and will be landing in Chennai, they are not from Chennai....so not sure if I should try to book a taxi before hand...or the charges are controlled ? Also, do they have something like pre-paid taxi ?
The flight (emirates) lands at 3 or 4 am.
Also, any recomendations for Hotels ? Ideally near the railway station.

As far as the content of the replies goes, this proves again that to a lot of lawmakers, immigration = ILLEGAL immigration. It is upto us to educate them of our plight too.
Wam4Wam, can you call up your senator's office and speak to the immigration liaision? Explain to him that when you sent the fax to them, you had asked for considering pro immigrant legislation for legal immigrants.
You can ask the liaision for a meeting too. We have all the necessary resources you need for such a meeting on our resources website. The CA team has been successfully using these resources. And please update this thread too so that others may learn from you

Why you cannot sue for the people who struck at Consulate due to administrative process without probable cause.
Several of them working in U.S (they have proof of employment, pay stubs, worked in the U.S on H1B visa for many years) just went to their home country for short vacation and applied for visa; they have rented house in the U.S and unable to break the lease; unable to pay car dues; their U.S citizen children also held overseas; they are loosing their jobs. I spoke to my lawyer. She said she was re-sending the app in today with a cover letter explaining the wrongful rejections. She said that if they still reject it, she will go through the liaison and try to get them to accept it. Is this standard procedure?
Secondly, on a different note, I am not sure who did it or why, someone gave me a red dot.
