Sometimes in your life you make bad decisions. It happened unfortunately, because my PD is June 2004 EB2 and when dates became current last year, I thought it needs to move just 3 months to have my date current and as per DOS release there were only 3400 visas in EB2 for 2004.
Unluckily I chose for CP instead of 485 and now lying in a dark well.
Anyway please don't sympathize, I'll certainly come out of this situation very soon.

What I am finding is, there are not enough people to do the really complicated stuff. Because of demand and supply the salaries are going up for folks that do specialized tech work( say OS Kernel development).
Then again, nothing in this world is too difficult, so lot of this stuff is getting pushed out to development teams outside of the US, where it's cheaper to get it done. The only downside is the ramp up time.
There is a critical point when it becomes too expensive to hire anyone in the US and the folks elsewhere are sufficiently ramped up, at that point we can thank all those who are against employment based immigration and find an alternate career :)
It is also obvious that the current graduates are more reluctant to take up jobs in US or stay here for a long time due to the following:
1. Messy GC process as more students are becoming aware of the situation
2. Ability to work freely in a competitive environment
3. Boom in their home country (India and China) [A survey shows that majority of foreign students are from these countries]
4. Ability to start at higher levels over there compared to start up jobs over here
5. Can stay with family
In our team, we are trying to hire 3 full time employees in west cost with specific skill set and could not succeed for the past 6 months :( One of my friend who is leading a team, recently want to expand his team had a similar issue. He finally setup an office in India and recruited people over there.
These trends clearly indicate that US is loosing clear competitive advantage and more jobs are moving off-shore.
If for some reason I move back to India, I am sure that I will be taking away as many as 10 jobs along with me as well :)

The 111th Congress begins its lame duck session on November 15th. The major item on the agenda will be what to do with President Bush�s tax cuts which are set to expire on December 31, 2010. When you set up the infopass appntmt do you have to select the option
'EAD Inquiry Appmt' even when you are going with AP question.

You should do following for Advanced Parole related appointment if you are arranging the first appointment.

On next screen select
-Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing.

Company is paying about 5200 for filing and attorney fees and i paid about 380 for medical

Because of sudden influx of projects coming to India last year, there was a temporary upsurge in the demand for skilled personnel in india ....So there are many options for these people which caused the higher attrition as they have many options open....So temporarily these IT Companies used to retain highly skilled employees at any cost and kept them in front line and recruited some freshers (i have seen one company recruited freshers and charged them 50,000 ...you heard it right :0 initally with the commitment of 2 years).
As the freshers are catching up with the experienced ..i see a sharp decline in demand my area of expertise from past 6 months to an Year .... But from CEO point of view , still work is done ..with 40 % or more saving ..may be for little compromise on quality ....
I have a feeling that attrition rate may slow down in coming years .....
Any one please share your views /experiences ..

My wife's AP was approved today. The receipt date on the original filing was Jun1st.
Since, we had to visit Canada shortly for a conference, we took the invitation letter to the InfoPass appointment. The person at the counter asked us the fax the documents to the Nebraska office and we did that the very same day.
After a week, we received an approval email.
I also had contacted the CSC around 20 days before the infopass appointment, even though I chose the 45 day options while booking the appointment.
Hope this information helps others.

6 years for everyone? is everyone's PD 2007? Are they going to issue GC only after 6 years? use a little common sense and you will find that GCs are given based on PD, Older the PD sooner you will get GC. for example a person with PD 2003 will get GC within 6 months.
I am not sure of this but from studying data, I get the impression that the GC are given out on a FIFO system based on when USCIS receives your I-485 (assuming it clears NC) and NOT PD date

This is crazy if this is how USCIS or DHS or whoever is going to interpret the law. We need some clarification from an experienced attorney. From the visa bulletin in Nov 2005, it does seem that USCIS is saying over subscribed countries will only get 7% in FY2006 and AC21 will not apply. If its only 2800 for EB2 and EB3 India then priority dates will never reach somewhere like 2005 or 06 for Indian nationals.
May be this explains why priority dates have got stuck at Jan 03 for EB2 India since october 2006.

I dont know what to do. I opened an SR on Oct 8,2007. My ND is Sept 10. And so far no FP appointment yet. My app is at TSC.

Nothing yet...I was out of town for a week and just got back home last night...writing to ombudsman did not help either. Will just wait!

I wonder what our children and grandchildren will learn from all these. When they grow up and know that their parents had to go through this mess while waiting to be accepted legally for xxxx number of years and some people got the "grand reward" of being illegal for many years!! These CIRcus operators will be responsible for the loss of "very little" moral left in this country. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
