Great news. What will be greater is that not only these "students", but the people who employ them, the people who run the "university", the ones who gave accreditation to this "university" should be all loaded in a ship and dropped-off on a hitherto uninhabited island in the south pacific, with a live stream of their life made available post drop-off.
They can all happily screw each other on the island.
BTW, let one of the right wing radio shows get a hold of this news, we will not hear the end of this. The next logical step will be Steve King professing an end to F1 visas.

And passer by drivers at Higher Speed than you. Can you point police for stopping you.
So don't tell that you are fine and everybody is fine.
What if someone here saw your postings (800+ posting guru) and travels wihtout Transit Visa and Aitport people ask for Transit Visa and missed flight--- Have to stay at Airport for hours.
Try to accept rules guys....

If its money that lures them into action, so be it. At this point, the situation is so desperate anything that moves the queue quicker is fine by me.
Definitely it is fine for "you" but not for many others. That's why many oppose it.
Why people are apprehensive ... the same reason why the very same people demanding for a special quota are apprehensive that Illegals will be placed before them pushing them further down the queue.
And if it plays by money may be have an auction for GC ... highest bidder gets it first ;)

You have some very valid points about community (non)participation in your post.
I understand your point about having another rally. Make no mistake - IV core has no problems with planning and conducting another rally. So it's not a big issue to get them to agree. I can push IV core, and get another rally. Bigger issue is how many are going to turn up? If it's just 100-200 of us same-old folks, there is no point.
Last year when we were bouyed by the success of July VB reversal, it was estimated that at least 10,000 would turn up. But, only 2000 did. I don't know how many will, if we hold another few months from now?
IV can sponsor more ACTION (items). But what's point, if there is not enough participation? First step is the community needs to step up and make existing action items such as FOIA requests for backlog numbers, AC21 action items successful. This will motivate IV to launch more action items. No organization would want to be seen running too many campaigns with liitle or no community participation.
We need the IV core team and the administrator to guide some big rally's. Guys nothing will happen until we are bold about our intentions.
I noticed everyone comes up with their different ideas, but no one works to implement it. We need to stand together and do something big, when was the last time we had a big rally?

i dont have any hope in December bulletin, waiting for next year.

Has anyone thought of the people who missed the august 17 deadline because the labor was not cleared within time. Because of no mistake from ourside, we have to suffer. What a screwed up legal situation ?
As of now PD is apr 2001, I dont know when will it move ?

This situation is really bad. There are so many people who missed the deadline as their labor was stuck in BEC. USCIS should at least allow a one-time chance (like July 2nd) for such people to file 485. I was lucky to clear the labor stage earlier this year.
Ya...Atleast, they should allow us to file EAD. In that case my spouse can work. She did not get H1b this year(because of lottery system). She has PHD in CSE and sitting at home.

I am starting this thread exclusively to know and understand all kinds of problems faced by our legal non-immigrant visa community, does not matter if it is minor or major, just put your experience here. Unless we tell and discuss about our problems, how we can expect a solution? So, let�s list all our issues here, rank them and forward it our law makers. I am very hopeful that they will help.
I am a firm believer of the proverb "Crying baby gets milk!"
I feel that we are here to compensate the shortage of highly skilled people and we do not deserve unnecessary hurdles/problems/pains that adversely affect our normal lives! We have other things to worry about! For example if our kids don't poop!;)
Here is one I have faced personally and I feel it is absolutely unnecessary! ( or may be it can be changed )
1. Travel issues....when you have applied for H1 extension, sometimes it takes 6 months, you cannot travel during this period, and you have to wait till it is approved. Have paid $1000 twice for premium processing! How this can be fixed ?

Guys give it a couple of days. You'll start getting the receipts soon. Yes they are working on July 2 plus before July 2 mail. In another couple of days all their personnel will be working full time on the hundreds of thousands applications mailed in July. So be patient. It will happen....

I am working in tech field doing techie stuff (like System.out.println ;)) I did PMP in Jan 2008.. so far i didnt get a chance to use my PM skills (thanks to USCIS for not giving me GC yet and limiting my ability to look for better job)
I havent done MBA so I did learn few (project) management lessons while preparing for PMP.. although I wouldnt say that real world project management generally follows what is published by PMI
For studying PMP, I would highly recommend reading PMP Prep book by Rita Mulcahy.. I never read PMBOK... Also, give few mock up exams (there are plenty available on net)...
I am preparing for CFA level 1.. and man PMP was much easier! (just comparing one certification to the other - one with 5 books to read and other with only 1 book!)

that's what happened with us as well.. Waiting for 80 days now on AP and already changed the tickets twice..
ramus, i dont think local office will issue AP unless its an emergency. I am saying this bcoz i was in the local office today and they made it clear unless its absolute emergency AP will be issued only by NSC. In case of emergecy you need to show a valid proof that someone in your family is seriously sick.

I know ROW country may not like this thread, but look at EB-3 India or China, put yourself in our shoes and than you may realize how unfair this country is. In this unprecedented financial turmoil, I feel there are very remote chances for CIR or any package which increase immigration etc would pass, I am taking this initiative to gather as many people I can and go to washington. Again this is not an IV effort. If you are with me , you can spare some time it could be few days in Washington!! please PM me.
Again we are not creating any organization or anything, we are not going against IV's agenda. This is also a part of IV's agenda, but for now our sole agenda will be to bring a 2 line bill to remove country quota or increase the country cap(whichever can fly).
PS : For EB-3 India, unless country cap is removed or increased, you can presume you GC application dead forever...For EB-2 India It'll be a long journey for people with PDs sooner than 2005...
