Of course, person on L1 status can work at client site as long as he/she is directly managed by company that has sponsored L1 visa. They can not be directly managed by client. That is the restriction. Have you even read posts in this thread?

Before you file the law suit consider this,
The system is designed to get GC faster to the smarter (EB1, EB2, EB3 etc) or the rich (Investor). Sometimes circumstances decide in which queue you start the journey, Employer, attorney, how many days left in h1b etc, etc, etc
I do not like to jump queues and resent people who jump queues. But these are the people who look for opportunities and exploit them. These are the smart ones.
System favors people who are skilled (higher the better), By finding (new Labor, new I140) and using an opportunity these people have proved that they are worthy of the faster queue (eb3 to eb2, eb2 to eb1 etc).
What is wrong in rewarding the hardworking smart person with the original PD. After all that PD was established for that person(thank god LC sub is gone). That is the day an employer decided to sponsor GC for that person.

Heard the same from my lawyer, she has changed her tune completely in 2 days. Now she says that she is hearing the same thing and is possible. They are working through the weekend and has asked me to keep my blackberry on me at all times as they will be providing emails updates every 4 hours or if and when the said bulletin is released.

Btw, who told you that guys like punjabi and others overbid or bought a house that they cannot afford? They could and still can afford these houses i.e. the monthly mortgage payments; the only thing they cannot do in the current market is to sell it (even at the price at which they bough i.e. break even) and that is why they are stuck with it if/when they decide to move to another city/job - so no point blaming these guys. If you want to blame somebody, blame the banks who appraised the same house at 500k 2 years back which they are appraising at 400k today, there in lies the problem.

2. Visa numbers wasted by USCIS by their inefficiency
EB1 visa never belonged to EB2 or EB3 category. What if there were enough genuine EB1 people to claim all the EB1 visas. There won't be any spillovers. Spillovers are bonuses. It is never our right to claim those.
If you want your GC faster, work with IV for country cap removal and recapture.
Have you donated a single dime for IV's cause ?We always find it easy to go against fellow immigrants than fighting the injustice at root.

I agree with you that the main reason for the GC delay is the two causes you have mentioned. The Country cap is based on the current law (I am not saying the law is good). However along with the main causes for the delay the fraudulent uses of EB1 visa #s are also causing extra delay. Thus along with the effort to remove the main cause of delay we should work on the other cause of delays too.
I am also agreeing that as per the current law the L1A - Senior Level Manager can get their GC processed as EB1 and get GC within six months. I agree that this is the current law.
My main concern is the misuse of this law. People who should not get L1A visa are getting L1A using fraud and taking the EB1 visas which otherwise as per law would have trickled down to EB2.
You may be ok with the fraud being done by many of the L1A visa holders and their sponsors. However I am not and I shall support any steps taken by the IV member "L1Fraud".
You may think that the spillovers are bonuses and it�s ok if we do not get them. I differ with you; I feel if someone using fraudulent methods takes our bonuses away we need to protest against that.

I am speaking from experience. Download the forms needed for filing 485, EAD and AP. Then when your attorney send you his/her set ( normally they do this in 2 stages - one they will send you a draft copy to verify and correct all info - some have online questionnaire; stage two - they send the final forms for you to verify and sign again - this they may do paper copy or online PDF - that cannot be edited - not fill able forms).
So, here I am providing links to all forms that I know are needed. These from uscis.gov site are fill able. Weekend is coming. Fill them, and print and keep them.
When attorney sends papers, compare yours with their and do corrections in theirs ( usually it will have stamps of the firm)
Application To Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status - I-485
Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status - I-693
There is a supplemental 693 also for vaccination records.
Biographic Information - I-325 A
There are A, B, C and other versions. I filled A

Affidavit of Support - I-134
I completed all these forms with 100% correct info- still the Paralegal - made mistakes again and again ( I can't correct the PDF as Adobe PDF writer is 1800 USD). I lost ONE precious week. Hoping to file on 06/01/2007, filed on 06/08. Learn and be wiser from experience, yours and others.

Travelling via London Gatwick and Dubai to India and back. No airport change required during transit. Using AP, visa expired. I have a valid Canada PR card.
According to UK embassy US GC and Canada PR card holders do not need transit for direct airside transit. Does anyone have any experience in this situation? Please post. Thanks

I'm also in same situation only difference is my visa stamped in PP is expired (Jan06), but has H1 till Jan 2009. I'm planning to visit India in Feb07 and return on AP. As I read in other forums that H1 will be valid and we can file for extension (even Cornin INS Memo (5-16-00)) memo says that. My attorney also confirmed that.

I would suggest you to get h1 your visa stamped from India and enter on h1 and not on AP. Don't even show your AP to the immigration inspector at the POE.

Got an InfoPass scheduled, and created a SR. This is taking way too long, and now April + May approvals are rolling in...

I am sure you will get it. Response to a SR takes about 10-15 days. I opened my second SR on Aug 30th and got the response today. I was approved on Sep 7th.
Things i did from Aug 1st:-
Congresswoman (Zoe Lofgren): Her office helped me getting the PD correct in the USCIS system. When i made requested Zoe's office to enquire about my case they told me that PD is Feb 2007 instead of Feb 2006. I gave them my I140 and her office contacted NSC and NSC corrected the PD.
Ombudsman: Sent Email on Aug 10th and got a reply on Aug 11th that they will enquire with USCIS. Got a call from USCIS that my case is in transit.
AP approved on 08/26 and Soft LUD's on 08/27 and 09/02.
Attorney made a enquiry on August 25th about I485 with USCIS and was told to waiti 30 days.
Sep 7th: I485 approved.
Check to make sure your category and PD are correct in the USCIS system. Just to make sure.
