Lou Dobbs Sucks. Please stop his false propaganda on H1B. Get your facts right. Know the program before you talk about it. H1B is given for 3 years and have an option to extension for every 3 years. Nobody is overstaying their visas. They are extending their visa.

I sent i140 papers and money in feb 2007 to my company. in april i went to india and came back in May. in May when i asked the recieved number of i 140 filing to my company then they told me to wait for 2 week and after 2 week when they gave me recpt number, i checked online i saw following message.

Current Status: Case received and pending.
On May 16, 2007, we received this I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. ..................
"
looks like my company sent paper to USCIS in may not in march or april. is that currect? is the USCIS receipt date is the i140 filing date and gc cut off date if CIR bill passes? please throw some light on this.

I did the same and got 2 more people to send them and I'm hoping for 2 more. We're a small office but any letter counts :)

I guess these companies are also registered in USA and have moral responsibilty to respond. It is a huge mistake to ignore a national level politician's query.
Gotta love this system...
Two years ago; Grassley sent a questionnaire to the top 10 Indian outsourcing companies of how they use non immigrant visas.
They did not have any legal obligation to answer his query. They answered his questions by non answering it.
Grassley then starts to increase the rhetoric and starts pressuring uscis/dol to start investigations.
uscis/dol start investigatin and denying cases and study it and find fraud.
now; Grassley is getting his way and starting to change policy.
Nascom senses game is over and come begging which is exactly what grassley wanted in the first place.
At the end; he will get these guys to agree to tough measures (ie., lca requirements for L-1; tougher measures on h-1b, etc.
See how Microsoft answered differently when they got the query and compare to these guys.
This system created in USA has a way of making you conform to their behaviour willingly or through long and painful way. Looks like they had to learn through long and painful way.

Well if the system were fair, it wouldn't say x pending ROW, it would be like x pending eb3 and y pending eb2. Yes, there are a lot of applications from India, it is a large country! But why should it be relevant in EB based processing?

Any means of sending this would be helpful. Lets make it as easy as possible for people. For now - lets see if we can get over a 1000 people to do this.
Ideally in addition to posting your letter on www.WhiteHouse.gov/Contact, it would help if you send a letter to your Senators office as well.
Instead of sending emails, wouldn't it be better to send USPS mail or faxes?

I didn�t want to go to DC rally due to my surgery appointment (September 6th) because I can not fly for three weeks after the surgery.
Guess what?, I have postponed my surgery appointment date, booked tickets and going to DC rally on Monday evening and flying back on Tuesday night.
I also urge people to take a day off and attend the rally.

Dude, I have been sparring with Pappu and Starsun for quite some time now. IV needs to be a "Paying Members Only" organisation.
Per some statistics regularly floating around here, IV has 40,000 odd members. A membership fee as small as $1/month!! ($12/year), will INSURE a steady flow of funds, that will make a HUGE difference.
Even if 20,000 of that 40,000 run away due to the $12.00/yr subscription requirement, that still leaves IV with almost a QUARTER million dollars worth of cash at hand, .

The government is telling my family I am not an adequate person to form a family with in the U.S. because I was deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of marijuana, yet it is granting the 212(d)(3) Waiver for Non-Immigrant Visas to Aliens deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of marijuana and who wish to travel to the U.S.. United States Citizens need an Immigrant Visas Waiver available to their Alien Immediate Relatives deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of Marijuana in order to even the scales on both U.S. citizen and Alien immigration privileges concerning Deported Aliens with a Drug-Related Offence of More than 30 Grams of Marijuana.
The way things are now U.S. citizens without a criminal conviction and with Alien Immediate Relatives are being discriminated against by their own government. The needs of deported Aliens with criminal convictions are being placed before their own.
It�s pure hypocrisy and it�s my family�s and my name being placed on the line.
I mean, really, how great can the U.S. be if it�s willing to lose their citizens to aliens like me when they decide to move outside of the United States to join their Immediate and shunned Alien Relatives? The U.S. government�s violation of my family�s civil human rights to liberty, freedom of expression and equality before the law is unwarranted. My U.S. family�s civil liberties to equal protection under the law, to due process and privacy are being discriminated against, they are not receiving fair treatment.
